Skirts & Tops

Year one was mostly working with woven fabrics patterning a variety of sleeves, darts, sleeve shapes and princess line shapes.

Eight panel lined gore skirt with invisible zipper and hook and eye closure.  Top is a muslin study of facings, shoulder shifts and paralleling tucks.

Fully lined mini skirt in vintage fabric with invisible zipper and hook and eye closure.  Top is a study on puffed sleeves and collars, note the geometric shaping.

100% wool pencil skirt with kick pleat and princess lines, also fully lined.  Top is a study on sleeves and darts with a darted sleeve, French darts on the bodice and a shirred, puffed sleeve.

Blazers

Winter quarter year two was a deep dive into blazers and tackling fit issues and creating our own our own block patterns.

I chose a 5 panel blazer in navy blue wool modeled after yacht wear and a nod to the 80's with large, square shoulder pads.

1/4" scale patterns are helpful to plan out alterations.  Each set of adjustments is verified with a muslin.

The pattern is ready to be finalized and submitted "for production" with a technical sketch.
